How it works

From profile to hired —
four steps.

You enter your experience once. Every application after that is handled by Career Quiver — reading the job, identifying the hiring software, building the resume. Here's exactly what happens and why.

01 Nock

Build your profile once.

In archery, nocking the arrow is the first act — setting it in place before you draw. In Career Quiver, your profile is that arrow: everything you've done, built, and achieved, entered one time.

Add your work history, education, skills, certifications, and achievements. Career Quiver stores them in a structured professional database — not a static document. Every application from this point draws from this profile. You never start from a blank page again.

  • Work history in full detail — job titles, companies, dates, responsibilities, and achievement bullets. The more you add, the better the generated resumes become.
  • Skills with context — not just a list of keywords. Proficiency level, years of experience, and how each skill has been used in practice. This is how the engine knows which skills to foreground for each role.
  • Multiple resume versions — save tailored versions per industry, role level, or career pivot. Your profile is the master; the versions are outputs.
  • Import or build from scratch — paste an existing resume and Career Quiver will parse it into your profile, or use the AI assistant to write bullets with you from scratch.
Free tier: Full profile + 2 saved resume versions. No credit card. No time limit.

02 Draw

Paste a job you want.

Drawing the bow is the moment of focus. You've chosen a target. Career Quiver's Job Analysis Engine reads the posting in full — not just the title, every word — to understand exactly what this employer is looking for.

Paste the job URL or drop in the full description text. The engine extracts required skills, preferred qualifications, seniority signals, and implicit expectations (the things companies want but don't say outright). It compares all of this against your profile to identify exactly where you're a strong match — and where the language gap is.

  • URL or paste — both work — drop in a LinkedIn, Indeed, or company careers page URL. Career Quiver fetches and parses it. Or paste the job description directly if you prefer.
  • Requirement extraction — the engine separates must-have from nice-to-have, identifies the seniority level the employer actually wants, and surfaces implicit requirements that aren't in the bullet points.
  • Gap analysis against your profile — every required skill or experience is matched against what you have. Where you use different terminology for the same thing, the engine flags and reconciles it.
  • LinkedIn Easy Apply handling — if the job uses LinkedIn Easy Apply, Career Quiver also surfaces LinkedIn profile optimizations, because that's the recruiter's actual first filter — not the resume.

03 Aim

We identify the hiring software.

Most companies don't process resumes manually. Automated screening software filters every application before a human sees it — and each platform has its own parsing rules, keyword matching logic, and formatting requirements. Aiming means knowing exactly what you're up against.

Career Quiver identifies which hiring software the employer is using — via URL pattern analysis, technology fingerprinting, and a company database — and calibrates the generated resume for that system's specific behavior. Not just general best practices. The actual platform.

  • Workday — prefers simple single-column formats, parses Word more reliably than PDF, requires exact keyword matches. Career Quiver outputs a clean single-column .docx with full-term keywords.
  • Greenhouse — weights human readability above the fold, handles PDF and Word equally. Career Quiver keeps the summary section strong and ensures both acronym and full-form keyword variants appear.
  • Taleo (Oracle) — notoriously fragile PDF parser. Career Quiver outputs .docx for Taleo, avoids special characters, uses literal keyword matching.
  • Lever, iCIMS, and 200+ more — each platform has distinct behavior. When the system can't be identified with confidence, Career Quiver applies universal best practices and shows you the detection confidence level.
Knockout question warnings: When a specific platform is detected, Career Quiver surfaces common pre-screening questions that cause hard rejection before any resume review — work authorization, required certifications, experience minimums.

Download and apply.

Loosing the arrow is the moment of release — everything before this was preparation. Career Quiver generates a complete, tailored resume. Not a list of suggestions. Not a score. A finished document, ready to submit.

The output is built specifically for the job you analyzed, formatted for the platform detected, with your strongest relevant experience foregrounded and your keywords aligned to the job description. Download it as PDF or DOCX, apply, and move on to the next one.

  • A complete document — not edits to make, not a score to interpret. A finished resume you can submit immediately, with every section written and formatted.
  • Resume strength score — a 0–100 rating across 10 dimensions (keyword coverage, formatting compliance, quantification rate, acronym completeness, and more). Strong (85–100) · Good (70–84) · Needs Work (55–69) · High Risk (0–54).
  • PDF or DOCX export — format is selected based on which the detected platform handles better. You can override if needed.
  • Cover letter included — the same job analysis powers a matching cover letter. Same tone, same keyword alignment, same platform awareness.

Questions

How it actually works.

No — that's the point. You build your profile once. Every application after that pulls from the same profile. The only thing you provide per job is the job URL or description.
Several signals, combined: the job application URL often contains fingerprints of the platform (e.g. greenhouse.io, workday.com, lever.co), the job portal page's source code contains traceable technology markers, and Career Quiver maintains a company database that maps employers to the platforms they're known to use. Detection confidence is always shown — when it can't be determined, universal best practices apply.
Career Quiver can't manufacture experience you don't have — and it won't. What it does is ensure that any genuine experience you do have is described in language the hiring system will recognize, with your strongest relevant experience foregrounded. If there are real gaps, the gap analysis will show them clearly so you can decide whether to apply.
Yes. Every generated resume is saved to your account and can be edited in Career Quiver's resume builder before downloading. You can also regenerate it if you make changes to your profile or want to try a different emphasis.
Most tools (Jobscan, Resume Worded) analyze your existing resume and give you a score with a list of things to fix. You still have to do all the rewriting yourself. Career Quiver generates a new document for you — the output is a complete, submission-ready resume, not a to-do list. You can still edit it, but the work is done.
Pro plan: 10 analyses per month. Premium plan: 30 per month. Each analysis covers the full process — job parsing, ATS detection, resume generation, score, cover letter, and company research. If you're applying actively, 10 per month is typically enough for a focused search; 30 covers a high-volume approach. Unused analyses don't roll over.
Yes — no credit card, no trial period, no expiry. The free plan includes the resume builder, your complete professional profile, 2 saved resume versions, and PDF/DOCX export. Every account also gets a 7-day Pro trial so you can try the full job analysis engine before deciding. If you don't upgrade, you keep your free account indefinitely.
